Thrash's Tattoo - A Living Art Studio
3223 West Main Street, Rapid City, SD 57702
Thrash's Tattoo has been part of Rapid City, South Dakota's body art scene since 2001, when the shop first opened in a small strip mall location. The studio moved to its current West Main Street location in 2004, and the founding family later expanded by building a second location, Wild Idea Tattoo, on Knollwood Drive in 2008. Run by husband-and-wife team Matt and Cathy Thrash, the studio has grown into a close-knit "Tattoo Family" of dedicated artists and staff who bring decades of combined experience to custom tattooing and body piercing.
The crew offers custom body art built around client collaboration, with artists happy to brainstorm and design pieces tailored to each person. Services extend beyond tattooing to body piercing and henna work, provided by a team that includes dedicated tattoo artists, a piercer, a shop manager, and an all-around assistant. Appointments are strongly recommended, particularly for those traveling from out of town or visiting during the busy summer season, though walk-ins are welcomed whenever possible. Located near the Black Hills, this studio invites visitors to stop in and experience quality work from a team that values craftsmanship, fun, and hard work in equal measure.
