Anatomic Tattoo Funchal

Anatomic Tattoo Studio in Funchal traces its roots back to 1996, when founder Virgílio Baptista opened it as the first tattoo studio on the island of Madeira, becoming a reference point for modern tattooing on the island. Over the years the studio has trained many professionals and helped shift public attitudes toward tattooing as an art form, growing into three spaces around the city while keeping a traditional tattoo-parlor decor. The team is large, creative and socially engaged, having run initiatives such as "Sem-Abrigo Não Têm Cara," "Movember," and "Vidas Suspensas," giving new looks to homeless people in Funchal.

The studio's artists cover a wide range of styles, including Maori, realism, black and grey, tribal, geometric, mandalas, dotwork, fine line, old school and new school. Alongside tattooing, the studio offers a broad selection of piercing services. Located in the heart of Funchal and open six days a week, it aims for maximum availability for clients. Its tattooers have appeared at international conventions in countries including Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Switzerland and Bolivia, and the diverse, close-knit team is united by a shared goal: to leave a permanent, meaningful mark on every client who walks through the door.
