Blue Scarab Tattoos & Body Piercing has served the community since opening its doors in May of 2004, founded by Michael Conner, lead guitarist of the band "Any Given Sin." After twenty years in Waldorf, Maryland, the award-winning shop relocated to Leonardtown, Maryland, where it continues to offer experienced, passionate artists and piercers in a friendly and sterile environment. Every tattoo is fully custom, designed around the client's own imagination rather than pre-made flash, and the artists work across a wide variety of styles, giving something for everyone.
The resident artists bring decades of combined experience: one has tattooed professionally since 1996 and specializes in photo-realism, traditional, black & grey, color work, portraits, and custom pieces, while another, tattooing since 2006, focuses on black and grey and color work, including day-of-the-dead sugar skull designs. Beyond tattooing, the studio provides professional body piercing with high-quality jewelry and knowledgeable piercers who guide clients through every step, as well as laser tattoo removal. Walk-ins are welcome for both tattoos and piercings, though appointments are recommended for tattoo work.
