Tattoos by Jes le Bon

Tattoos by Jes le Bon is the studio of tattooer and multidisciplinary artist Jessica Lynn Bonin, based in Bellingham, Washington. Her work draws on the aesthetic vernacular of Americana, exploring how the artifacts, symbols, and images of American culture shape and define individual and collective identity. Her broader creative practice examines themes of human adaptability, the polarity between rural and urban life, social structures within communities, and the relationship between people, land, and resources. This conceptual foundation informs a tattooing style described as a marriage between tidy technical impressionism and raw, intuitive mark-making.

Jessica has been largely self-employed as an artist since 2002 and now works full time in Bellingham as a tattooer and freelance artist. Her practice extends well beyond tattooing to include curation, art handling, graphic design, book layout and design, corporate art, murals, sign painting, chalkboards, illustration, custom sewing and apparel, and logo design. This range reflects a lifelong, daily approach to art-making across nearly every medium, rooted in early years spent observing and emulating creative family members who painted, drew, scrimshawed, sculpted, and sewed.
