Liquid Amber Tattoo & Art Collective

Liquid Amber Tattoo & Art Collective has been a fixture of the Vancouver tattoo scene since 2001, now located in the culturally vibrant Commercial Drive neighborhood. Founded as a trailblazing queer-women-owned studio, it opened its doors at a time when women tattoo artists were rare in the city, and has since grown into a thriving community of resident and guest artists working in a variety of styles. The studio pairs custom and cosmetic tattooing with a curated art gallery showcasing local visual artists, and its founder has personally mentored more than a dozen apprentices over the past two decades.

The current resident roster includes artists from Vancouver, Toronto, Spain, Germany, Brazil and beyond, reflecting an eclectic and international creative environment, alongside guest artists who visit throughout the year. Through its ART SOCIAL events, the space transforms into an art market and community hub supporting local visual artists. The studio is health board-approved, adheres to a high standard of cleanliness and professionalism, and offers piercing services in addition to tattooing. Its mission centers on providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where artists and clients from all walks of life feel welcomed and valued.
