Tattoo Alchemy is a tattoo shop in Frederick, Maryland, offering quality tattoos with no piercing services. The studio is home to three artists, Robert Vendemmia, Chris Carter, and James "Butthead" Wilbar, each bringing their own strengths and preferred styles, with the shared goal of creating the best possible image for every client. The shop takes bookings for custom tattoo work while also welcoming walk-ins, filling open appointment slots whenever they arise. Demand is often high, and wait times for a booked appointment can stretch from weeks to months depending on the artist.
The shop keeps a small, focused space with a lobby area for guests, a water cooler, and a bathroom, and it welcomes friends or family accompanying clients during appointments. Larger ongoing projects like sleeves and back-pieces are handled with dedicated session-based work, and touch-ups are offered to address any concerns after a session. Payment is accepted by cash, credit, debit, and Apple Pay, with some artists also accepting PayPal or Venmo. Tattoo Alchemy is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 8pm, with hours subject to change based on artist availability.
