Lucky Koi Tattoo is a Japanese-tattoo-focused studio located in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and is known as the only studio in the state dedicated exclusively to traditional Japanese tattooing, or "Wabori." The shop's artists, Cherise Farmer and Jason Sexton, specialize in this style, where every element of a design carries meaning rooted in tradition. Clients are guided through a collaborative design process intended to honor Japanese tattoo customs while creating artwork that holds personal significance.
The studio offers free consultations to help clients begin designing their tattoo, working closely with each person to translate their ideas into a piece that respects the discipline's history. The atmosphere is described as relaxed and welcoming, with artists who take time to talk through ideas with clients while delivering precise, clean line work. Located on 1st Street in Idaho Falls, the shop has built a reputation for craftsmanship within the Wabori tradition, offering a focused alternative for those seeking authentic Japanese-style tattooing rather than a general range of tattoo genres.
