By Her Hand Tattoos is a fine line tattoo studio located in the Trolley Square area of Wilmington, Delaware. Led by artist Kristen Steele, the studio specializes in botanical and nature-inspired work, including meandering floral scapes, tussie-mussies, and fauna of all kinds, alongside black and grey pieces ranging from delicate florals to portraits, creatures, and larger sleeve and back pieces. The shop is a woman-owned business, and its portfolio reflects a deep love of nature, with much of the botanical imagery drawn directly from walks and observations around the local area.
The studio's body of work spans detailed floral compositions, memento mori themes, animal portraits, and mythological subjects, often incorporating personal and sentimental objects into designs. Coverup work has been part of the shop's offerings, reworking and reimagining older tattoos into cohesive new pieces, though availability for such projects can vary. Clients can reach out by phone or email to begin planning a piece, with consultations handled directly through the studio. Having been open for a few years, the shop has built a steady presence in the Wilmington tattoo community, sharing progress on pieces and studio happenings through its active social media presence.
