Kevin Harden Tattoo, also known as AK Tattoo, is a custom tattoo studio located in the heart of Anchorage, Alaska, at 409 W. Northern Lights Blvd. Kevin Harden has been tattooing since January 1992, apprenticing under Temple Drake at Tattoo Technique in Bremerton, Washington, and now brings over 34 years of experience to every piece. He specializes in Bio-Organica, his signature Organic Mech style, along with biomechanical, neo-traditional, and surreal nature-inspired imagery, with technique heavily influenced by Alphonse Mucha and the Art Nouveau movement. The shop also offers floral, illustrative, traditional, new school, lettering, large-scale work, sleeves, and tiny tattoos, and welcomes walk-ins with same-day tattoos available.
Open Monday through Saturday, with appointments available for earlier or later hours, the studio is closed Sundays. Described as an artist's studio rather than an average shop, the space is filled with original paintings, sculptures, and one-of-a-kind custom tattoo designs covering the walls. Clients have included Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe and Mike Herrera, lead singer of MxPx. Artist Cade Bennett also works alongside Kevin. Alongside tattooing, Kevin's personal artwork and drawings are showcased throughout the studio's portfolio, reflecting influences from Frank Frazetta, Moebius, Giger, and other favorite illustrators.
