Pure Steam Tattoo

Pure Steam Tattoo is a steampunk-themed tattoo shop in Asheville, North Carolina, owned and operated by Rebecca Schuppert. Rebecca began her tattooing journey as an apprentice at Body Inks Tattoo in Spartanburg, South Carolina, before graduating her apprenticeship in 2009 and working at Skin Grafix Tattoo in Easley, where she was quickly promoted to shop manager. After several years in South Carolina, she set out to establish a shop of her own in a city she could call home, landing in Asheville. The studio offers custom tattoo work in a wide range of styles, along with cover-up tattoos and piercing services, and clients can request quotes or book consultations directly through the shop.

The shop's crew also includes guest and resident artists with distinct specialties. Bethany Lackey, a tattoo artist of ten years based out of Jacksonville, North Carolina, is a regular guest artist known for large blackwork tattooing. Brandon Hendrickson, tattooing since 2010 out of South Carolina, focuses on big bold black lines paired with bright, colorful designs, as well as neotraditional and traditional tattooing. Together the artists bring a varied portfolio spanning blackwork, neotraditional, traditional, and custom cover-up styles, all within the shop's distinctive steampunk-inspired atmosphere in the heart of Asheville.
