Founder Chris tattoos under the pseudonym Westhanded, specializing in monochromatic tattoos with high detail, and opened the shop to give artists a place to thrive both in and out of tattooing. The studio has since grown, adding a downtown Asheville location in March 2021 to accommodate its expanding family of artists. Alongside custom tattoo work, the gallery also features artwork and jewelry from a variety of designers, reflecting its identity as a vintage-upscale styled space.
The West Asheville location sits in a quiet, decades-old building the team keeps clean and organized, describing it as a home away from home. All artists stay current on necessary certifications, and the shop follows health department guidelines for sterility. The environment blends Victorian style with contemporary art and modern technology, creating a distinct, welcoming atmosphere. Each artist, supplier, and collaborator is chosen deliberately, with an emphasis on building relationships and trust.
