Roy Alonzo Tattoo Studio operates as the private studio of tattoo artist Roy Alonzo in Durham, North Carolina. Originally from Tijuana, Baja California, Roy began his tattooing career in 2009 and has spent years working in North Carolina before opening his own private studio in Durham in 2022. He continues to return seasonally to Tijuana to tattoo longtime clients who have supported his work since the start of his career, splitting his time between the two locations.
The studio's focus is on custom, personalized tattoo designs, taking a client's idea and elevating it into original artwork rather than working from flash. Large-scale tattoo work is a notable part of the portfolio, showcased alongside a broader gallery of custom pieces. Beyond tattooing, the studio extends into Royal Clothing, an exclusive apparel line connected to the shop. Appointments in Durham are booked in scheduled sessions, with clients encouraged to reserve dates in advance to bring their tattoo ideas to life.
