Tattoo Asylum brings more than thirty years of combined artistic mastery to Durham, North Carolina, offering award-winning custom realism alongside the complex craft of cover-up work. The studio's artists specialize in transforming a client's vision into permanent, refined artwork, whether it's a first tattoo or another addition to an ongoing collection. Beyond tattooing, the shop provides professional piercing services, with a gallery showcasing available jewelry styles and completed work.
Cleanliness and safety are treated as non-negotiable standards here. The studio operates as a hospital-grade sterile environment that exceeds Durham County health regulations, using single-use barrier protection on all equipment and opening 100% disposable tools in front of every client. This clinical approach to cleanliness underpins every procedure performed on-site. The team includes multiple dedicated artists along with piercers and studio management, each bringing their own specialties to the shop. Open Tuesday through Saturday, the studio welcomes walk-ins and appointments for tattooing, piercing, and cover-up consultations alike.
