Freedom Ink Tattoos sits in the heart of Peoria, Illinois' historic warehouse district, an area the shop is proud to help make a destination once again. The studio is owned by Tim Beck, a tattooer with 21 years of experience who has tattooed at some of the world's most notable conventions and been featured in top tattoo magazines. He leads a team that includes Zach Dole, Sam Lott, and Terry Lessard. The shop's walls are covered floor to ceiling with folk art and Americana tattoo flash, much of it hand-painted, reflecting an approach centered on the rich history of American tattooing, with strengths in portraiture, tribal, traditional, pinup, and realism work.
Cleanliness and safety are central to the shop's philosophy: it is registered with the State of Illinois, passes all health code inspections, and every artist is certified through the American Red Cross in blood-borne pathogen training. All equipment is single-use, with sterile pre-packaged needles, tubes, ink, ink caps, ointment, rubber bands, and razors for each client, and stations are sanitized to OSHA standards after every session.
