Stamen Tattoo is a tattoo and art studio located in The Hague, specializing in realistic tattoos. The studio's realism work draws on photography, using three-dimensional approximation and graduated shading to bring designs as close to a real image as possible, covering portraits, animals, landscapes, objects, and movie scenes in both black-and-gray and color realistic styles. Alongside realism, the studio also works in related styles such as blackwork, rooted in tribal and illustrative art traditions using black ink only, and dotwork, images built entirely from dots, often rendered in black and gray for shadow or full compositions.
