Yellow Blaze Tattoo

Yellow Blaze Tattoo is a private tattoo studio in Yokohama, Japan, run by artist Shigenori Iwasaki, known as SHIGE. Founded in August 2000, the studio specializes in a distinctive Japanese tattooing style rooted in traditional Japanese art and symbolism, a practice SHIGE began developing on his own in 1995 after working as a Harley-Davidson mechanic in Yokohama. His work draws deeply on classical Japanese imagery and motifs, reflecting decades of self-taught study and refinement of the craft.

Since 2001, the studio's artist has taken part in tattoo conventions around the world and has provided artwork for events in London, Milan, and Melbourne. His pieces have also been featured in museum and gallery exhibitions internationally, including presentations at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, the Japanese American National Museum, and the Musée du quai Branly in Paris, alongside published art book work. Yellow Blaze operates by appointment only, open from 10:00 to 19:00 and closed on Fridays, offering visitors a focused, dedicated environment for Japanese-style tattoo work in the heart of Yokohama.
