1770 Tattoo

1770 Tattoo is a long-established studio in Brighton, operating since 2005 and known for traditional, tribal, Japanese, black and grey, and realistic tattooing. Housed across three floors of a period building on the edge of the South Lane, close to the sea, the shop was originally the sister studio to London's influential Into You, taking on the name 1770 Tattoo in 2016. In 2025 the studio passed from tattooer Alex Binnie to Dan Gold and his son Yan Gold, who continue its legacy alongside a team of artists bringing decades of combined experience and international backgrounds.

The studio specialises in custom tattooing, built on close collaboration between artist and client, and welcomes both walk-ins and appointments. Its space is designed to feel filled with natural light, artwork and personality, reflecting the character of the people who work there. Exceptional hygiene standards, genuine care and a focus on doing things properly underpin every tattoo created.
