Skins & Needles Tattoo

Skins & Needles Tattoo Studio in Middlesbrough marks the origin of what has grown into one of the North's leading tattoo and piercing studios. Founded in 2011 by Matthew Salvin, a former barber who fell in love with the craft after training abroad, including time spent with a hand-poking Buddhist monk in Thailand, the studio has built its reputation over more than 14 years in the industry. The Middlesbrough location holds the very roots of that journey, and the team takes pride in the talent housed within its walls, offering tattooing alongside professionally trained, council-licensed piercing services.

Beyond tattoos and piercings, the studio offers scalp micropigmentation and laser and aesthetics services, including tattoo removal. Its artists work across a range of styles, with resident talent joined by guest artists who travel in to collaborate on client designs. The approach centres on precision, passion, and putting people first, aiming to create a safe, professional, and genuinely welcoming environment for every client. Free consultations and flexible payment options, including "ink now, pay later" finance, make the process accessible. Over the years the studio has also picked up industry recognition, including awards for tattoo removal and salon excellence within the North East hair and beauty sector.
