Forbidden Arts Tattoo Studio

Forbidden Arts Tattoo Studio is a multi award-winning tattoo studio based in York, United Kingdom, recognised for exceptional quality and creativity. The team specialises in a wide range of styles including realism, colour, black & grey, fine line, neo-traditional, geometric, abstract, and expert cover-up work, transforming outdated or unwanted tattoos into bold new pieces of art. Artists carefully assess existing tattoos and client goals to determine the best approach, whether full coverage, creative integration, or a complete reimagining, using strategy, colour theory, and detail to turn past ink into new artwork.

The studio's approach centres on artistic freedom, giving artists creative liberty to develop original, boundary-pushing designs, alongside genuine personal connection with clients through listening and collaboration. Hygiene is a top priority, with single-use needles, medical-grade sanitation, and fully licensed procedures upheld throughout. Services include custom tattoos ranging from minimalist linework to intricate full sleeves, cover-ups, and free one-on-one consultations to develop a client's vision. Whether marking a life-changing event, honouring a loved one, or getting a first tattoo, the welcoming, professional environment is designed to make every client feel safe and inspired.
