Central Coast Tattoos has been serving Morro Bay, California since 1991, earning its reputation as the oldest tattoo studio on the Central Coast, still run by its original owners and artists. The shop is led by Master Artist and Piercer Chrys Young, who specializes in cover-ups, fine line work, and realism, and brings decades of experience along with a background as a practicing Nurse Practitioner and founder of a body art safety seminar program taught to practitioners worldwide. Master Piercer Cynthia Smith oversees daily operations and piercing services, bringing over 25 years of industry experience and a well-regarded bedside manner.
Set in a small beachside community with a steady flow of visitors, the studio maintains a welcoming, low-pressure atmosphere for both locals and tourists. Walk-ins are welcome alongside scheduled appointments, and custom work can be done on demand rather than requiring long waits. The shop is open most days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and also carries a large selection of temporary tattoos for those not ready to commit to permanent ink. With decades of continuous operation and a focus on custom artistry, this studio remains a fixture of tattoo culture on California's Central Coast.
