Greyscale Tattoo is a fully custom tattoo shop in Derby, Connecticut, known for working one on one with clients to fully understand their vision before putting needle to skin. The studio specializes in a range of styles, with particular strength in black and grey work as well as traditional tattooing, and every piece is built around a custom design tailored to the individual client's needs.
The shop is led by tattoo artist John Valencia, who was first introduced to the craft in 2005 and spent years earning his place behind the machine before training under his mentor, John Henao, starting in 2010. That dedication to craftsmanship shapes the studio's approach today, with an emphasis on close collaboration and hand-drawn custom artwork rather than off-the-shelf designs. Visitors are welcome to stop by the shop in Derby to discuss ideas and have a design drawn up to meet their specific vision, reflecting the personal, client-focused atmosphere the studio maintains.
