It blends Celtic and Viking visual traditions rather than representing one specific culture accurately, and is chosen more for a general warrior-ancestor aesthetic than precise historical meaning. People wear it to signal strength, heritage or a fighting spirit, though purists may note the mixed symbolism doesn't correspond to a single authentic tradition.
Where it sits
The tall, symmetrical composition with the figure centred beneath a halo of rune spokes suits a back piece or the length of a thigh or forearm, where the vertical spread of sword, body and radiating lines has room to breathe. Shrinking it below forearm size would lose the knotwork detailing on the armour and shield, and the small individual rune characters would blur into illegible marks. A calf or upper arm sleeve panel could also work if the design is allowed enough width for the shield and sunburst.
