Where it sits
The tall, roughly rectangular shape with torn edges suits the upper arm, shoulder or calf where the torn-flesh effect can wrap naturally around the limb's curve. It could also work on the back or thigh where there's room for the full gear cluster and piping to read clearly. Shrinking it down much would blur the smaller gear teeth and rivet details, so it needs a reasonably large canvas to keep the mechanical parts legible.
