Cyclops Tattoo has operated in San Francisco's Mission District since 1998, artist owned and operated. It is a custom tattoo shop working strictly by appointment, with artists Jason Stein and Sweet Cicely Daniher on staff. The studio emphasizes a thoughtful consultation process, working closely with each client to refine their individual design and ensure the best possible outcome before any tattooing begins. Free consultations are offered, typically available within a week or two of reaching out, and there is no charge for the design process itself, though a deposit is required to secure an appointment.
The shop's approach centers on custom work built around quality and care rather than speed, reflecting a long-standing commitment to craftsmanship in one of San Francisco's most storied neighborhoods for tattoo culture. Clients are encouraged to contact the studio by phone or email to ask questions or schedule a session. The team is upfront about the realities of the process, from pricing based on an hourly rate to a clear cancellation policy requiring 48 hours notice. Reachable via BART, with the 16th Street station just a block away, the studio remains a fixture of the Mission's creative and independent spirit.
