Sacred Rose Tattoo has been a Bay Area favorite for more than 25 years. Founded in San Francisco in 1998 by artist Karen Roze, a CCAC fine art graduate who apprenticed at San Francisco's Picture Machine, the studio was one of the first woman-owned and operated tattoo shops in the Bay Area. The business outgrew its original San Francisco storefront and relocated to Berkeley, California, in 2006, later moving into a larger studio space in 2018.

The Berkeley studio provides custom, quality tattoo work to clients from around the world in a friendly, comfortable environment with an emphasis on customer service. Its roster includes award-winning artists holding professional art degrees, reflecting a dedication to tattooing as a genuine art form. The current space features six large work stations, a private station, and a spacious waiting area, allowing multiple resident and guest artists to work alongside one another. Decades of continuous operation across two Bay Area locations have shaped the studio's reputation as a lasting, community-rooted destination for custom tattoo work.
