Strange Brew Tattoo & Body Piercing has served Brattleboro, Vermont since 2011 as a Vermont State Licensed tattoo and body piercing studio. The shop follows strict standards of cleanliness, using EO gas sterilized, single-use needles and tubes, with instruments processed through a monthly-tested and maintained autoclave. Appointments are available Monday through Saturday, with the studio closed on Sundays.
The team is led by artist Jon Whitman, an old-school tattooer with a deep love of traditional work and influences like Sailor Jerry, Lyle Tuttle, and Zeke Owen, who also brings specialty experience in cosmetic and surgical reconstructive tattooing performed under medical supervision. Alongside him is Rachel Brown, who began her apprenticeship under Jon in 2011 after studying at Parsons The New School for Design and has grown into a versatile artist open to any style requested, drawing on a personal background in oil painting as well. Together they offer a studio grounded in traditional craft while continuing to expand into newer tattooing styles for a steady, growing clientele.
