American Electric Tattoo Co. has been a fixture of the Silverlake neighborhood in Los Angeles, California since it was opened by Craig Jackman in the fall of 1999. Walk-in guests are welcome at the shop, which serves both the greater Los Angeles area and tattoo collectors who travel from around the world to visit. Craig, the shop's owner, has been tattooing for over 35 years and is well known for his traditional and unique styles, work that has earned him features in multiple magazines and articles as well as an appearance on the television show LA Ink.
The resident artist team brings decades of combined experience across a range of approaches, including fine line, traditional, and illustrative tattooing. The collaborative process is emphasized throughout, with artists working closely with clients to translate their vision into a finished piece, treating every tattoo, regardless of size, with focus and respect. The studio marked its 20th anniversary in the Silverlake community in September 2019 by offering free flash designs to visitors. With a shopfront and interior built around this long-running tradition, the studio continues welcoming both longtime collectors and newcomers into its Los Angeles home.
