Original Henna Co is a Houston, Texas studio specializing in henna and mehndi body art, led by artist Soniya Ekici. Born into a family of henna artists spanning her mother and grandmother, Soniya grew up in India learning henna as a sacred form of expression, connection, and celebration. For over 31 years she has practiced the craft, blending classic Indian design with her own contemporary style across bridal henna, henna crowns, henna tattoos, and pregnancy henna. She uses only pure, natural henna, pairing her artistic intuition with a scientific understanding of natural ingredients drawn from her background in biology and medical research.

Beyond body art, the studio offers yoga and meditation sessions, workshops, sound bowl sessions, and energy healing experiences, along with a line of hand-mixed solid perfumes inspired by nature and ritual. Soniya is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher, a past-life regression therapist, and an end-of-life doula in training.
