Iron Hand Tattoo has been a fixture of Cranston, Rhode Island since it opened in 2010, founded by tattooer Kevin Borowski, who began tattooing in the Boston area in 1992 and earned his license in Providence in 1994. The studio's roots run deep in New England's tattoo tradition, with its founder having trained at Art Freek Tattoo Studio and spent over thirteen years working at Renaissance Tattoo Studio in Woonsocket before opening his own shop. The team includes multiple resident artists, each bringing their own focus to the collaborative shop environment.
The studio's work centers on classic imagery, Traditional American tattooing, Japanese style, custom designs, and cover-ups, with an emphasis on clean, solid craftsmanship built to last. Client satisfaction is treated as the top priority, and the approach favors straightforward, no-nonsense tattooing over trend-chasing. Open Tuesday through Saturday, the shop welcomes walk-ins and appointments alike for anyone seeking dependable, quality work in the Cranston area. With a roster of artists working under one roof, visitors can find a range of styles while trusting in a shared commitment to good, honest tattooing passed down through years of hands-on experience in Rhode Island's tattoo scene.
