Dolorosa Tattoo Studio is a custom tattoo shop in Los Angeles, founded in 2007 and artist owned and operated. The studio maintains two locations in the city, Studio City and Echo Park, and describes its approach as blending ancient rituals with modern techniques. Its team brings together a large roster of tattoo artists with decades of combined experience and distinct artistic styles, working across a wide range of custom designs rather than a single narrow specialty. Each location is open daily, and walk-ins are welcome, though appointments are recommended for booking with a specific artist.
Beyond tattooing, the studio also offers professional body piercing services, with piercers on staff providing safe, expert piercing work at the Studio City location. Clients can browse artist portfolios and submit consultation requests directly, with the studio typically responding to inquiries within 24 hours. Gift certificates are also available for those looking to give the experience as a present. With a sizeable collective of artists spread across its two locations, the studio offers flexibility for clients seeking a particular artist's style while maintaining a consistent, ritualistic approach to custom tattoo work throughout Los Angeles.
