Shaman's Den

143 Washington Street # A, Johnson City, NY 13790

The Shaman's Den is Johnson City's premier tattoo and body piercing studio, established since 2001. Originally located in downtown Binghamton, the studio relocated to Johnson City after 19 years, moving into a larger, more modern space with plenty of free, safe parking. It operates as an appointment-only, private studio, focused on providing safe, clean tattoos and piercings in a comfortable, modern setting. The tattoo team includes three artists: Shawn VanOven, who brings knowledge and creativity to custom tattoo design; Tim Would, hailing from Philadelphia with over nine years of experience and a specialty in anime and comic-related imagery; and Lisa Benson, skilled in both delicate fine line work and large, complex designs.

Body piercing services are provided by a piercer with experience dating back to 1997, using implant-grade jewelry from American manufacturers, freehand piercing techniques, and modern sterilization practices to ensure a safe experience. Piercing clients must be at least 16, with additional requirements for minors and valid photo identification for adults. Consultations and appointments for both tattooing and piercing can be arranged directly through the studio's tattooers or its online booking system, reflecting a personalized, appointment-based approach to every client's visit.
