Butchs Tattoo is a no-nonsense tattoo studio rooted in the working-class spirit of Independence, Missouri. Inside, clients can expect a professional environment where the craft is taken seriously and the welcome is genuine. The shop lends itself naturally to bold American traditional work, clean blackwork, and expressive neo-traditional pieces — styles that reward skilled hands and hold up beautifully over the years. Whether you're sitting for your first tattoo or adding to a longtime collection, the experience is approachable and grounded.
Independence sits just east of Kansas City, carrying its own proud identity as a historic Missouri town with deep roots in westward expansion and working-class community life. That heritage shapes the kind of people who walk through the door — straightforward, unpretentious, and appreciative of craftsmanship done right. Getting tattooed here feels connected to a larger tradition of local pride, where meaningful body art is less about trends and more about permanence, storytelling, and personal expression that lasts a lifetime.
