Bluz Tattooz & Body Piercing has served Waterford, Michigan since 1996, remaining in the same location ever since and earning a reputation as Oakland County's oldest and finest tattoo and piercing studio. The shop specializes in custom-designed tattooing and body piercing, while also offering plenty of commercial flash designs for clients who want ready-made inspiration. Piercing is available by walk-in or appointment, while tattoo appointments require an in-person consultation with one of the artists along with a deposit. Consultations are generally offered between noon and 1:30pm or 6-7pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
Every workstation is enclosed for privacy and outfitted with up-to-date equipment, with all tools autoclave sterilized using pressurized steam in line with OSHA regulations. The staff are Bloodborne Pathogen Certified, and the artists and piercer are licensed through the Oakland County Health Department; the studio was also a driving force behind Michigan's statewide regulation of tattoo studios. Beyond tattooing, the location doubles as home to the Motor City Tattoo Museum, showcasing an extensive collection of tattoo history assembled by Dano Collins. The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 7pm, and closed Sundays and Mondays.
