Back Alley Tattoos offers a welcoming, professional environment where skilled artists bring clients' visions to life with care and precision. The shop embraces a range of styles well-suited to its Appalachian roots, including bold American traditional work, detailed blackwork, and expressive neo-traditional designs. Clients can expect a comfortable, no-pressure atmosphere where the craft is taken seriously and every piece — whether a small first tattoo or a sprawling sleeve — receives genuine artistic attention.
Morehead sits in the foothills of eastern Kentucky, a college town shaped by Appalachian culture, outdoor life, and a tight-knit community spirit. That blend draws a diverse clientele — students from Morehead State University, locals with deep regional pride, and visitors passing through the Daniel Boone National Forest corridor. The result is a tattoo culture that honors tradition while staying open to fresh ideas, making Back Alley Tattoos a natural gathering point for anyone looking to wear meaningful art on their skin.
