Bay Street Tattoo Co. has been tattooing and body piercing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin since June of 1999, making it one of the oldest shops in the city. It is a women-owned business and has been since its founding, when Sheri and her partner opened its doors. The studio operates as a custom tattoo shop, working in black & grey, color, and cover-up tattoos tailored to each client. Alongside tattooing, the shop offers nearly 30 years of body piercing experience and carries a large collection of body jewelry, including genuine gemstones, gold, and acrylic pieces in a variety of styles.
The resident artists bring distinct backgrounds to the shop. Sheri has tattooed for more than 25 years, having apprenticed in Minnesota under a female tattooer before returning to Milwaukee to run local shops and eventually open her own. Walt began his apprenticeship in 2015 after an earlier career as a teacher, and focuses on tiny details, color, and nature-inspired tattoos.
