Bugaboo Tattoo opened in 1997 as Hammond, Indiana's first tattoo studio. It began on Calumet Avenue, operating there for four years before moving to its current, permanent location on Kennedy Avenue in Hammond. Over time the shop expanded into two additional locations, Bugaboo Southlake in Hobart/Merrillville and Bugaboo Arts in Cedar Lake, the latter operating by appointment only. Through decades of dedication, ongoing education and a strong commitment to the craft, the studio has grown into one of the premier tattoo shops in the Chicagoland area, producing award-winning work year after year.
The Hammond location is home to a team of dedicated tattoo artists alongside a piercer, offering a range of tattooing and piercing services to the community. The Hobart studio, known as Bugaboo Southlake, houses its own lineup of artists and a piercer, while Bugaboo Arts in Cedar Lake operates on a more personalized, appointment-only basis. Hammond's shop is open six days a week, closed Sundays, giving clients regular access to experienced artists in a studio with deep roots in the local tattoo scene. With multiple locations across Northwest Indiana, Bugaboo continues to build on its long-standing reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
