Dark Harbor Tattoo
39 Exchange Street, Portland, ME 04101
Dark Harbor Tattoo Society has been serving Portland, Maine since it opened in the summer of 2018, later expanding into a second location in South Portland in 2023. Its Portland space, remodeled with a private-room layout and gallery space, sits in the heart of the Old Port. The studio brings together an eclectic group of artists who each specialize in different tattoo styles, allowing clients to find the right match for their vision whether they book an appointment or come in as a walk-in. Piercing services are also offered on a walk-in basis. The team's stated goal is to educate clients about tattoos and the process behind them while delivering customer service that matches the quality of their artwork.
Beyond tattooing, the studio is known locally for community involvement, hosting an annual charity event called Tats for Tails that donates proceeds to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland. Clients can browse recent tattoo work through the studio's active social media presence and reach out directly for consultations or appointment requests. With multiple artists spread across its Portland and South Portland locations, the shop accommodates a wide range of custom tattoo requests, all delivered with an emphasis on detail, craftsmanship, and a welcoming, professional atmosphere for both new and returning clients.
