Black Rose Tattoo is downtown Lexington, Kentucky's first tattoo shop, established in 2017. The studio's focus is traditional tattooing, flash, and history, with work ranging from American traditional to ornate, folk, and tribal designs. Walk-ins are always welcome on a first-come, first-served basis, alongside custom work available by appointment. The shop has cultivated a street-shop, word-of-mouth atmosphere, and Saturdays are a popular time to stop in and pick a piece of flash. The studio is home to a team of artists, including Asa, Joey, Austin, Thomas P, and Ava, and it regularly hosts guest artists and flash event specials. Open Wednesday through Saturday with appointments available the rest of the week, the shop welcomes visitors to call, stop by, or reach out through Instagram to connect with an artist.
