Contender Tattoo Studio
6866 West Kellogg Drive, Wichita, KS 67209
Contender Tattoo Studio is a state-licensed, professional tattoo shop in Wichita, Kansas, opened in November 2022 by owner and artist Paul Carlson. Paul has been tattooing in the Wichita area since August 2014, has completed over 6,000 tattoos, and works across several different styles. The studio also features artist Acacia Moses, who completed her apprenticeship on-site and became fully licensed in Kansas in 2025; she specializes in floral work, American and Neo-traditional designs, watercolor, and anime and cartoon-character tattoos. Both artists are currently accepting new clients.
The shop emphasizes a clean, sanitary environment paired with efficient, attentive, and personal service at competitive pricing. Piercings are not offered. Appointments are arranged directly through email, with a required non-refundable deposit to secure booking time, and new clients are encouraged to review the studio's FAQ before reaching out. The lobby is intentionally small, so clients are asked to arrive at or just before their scheduled time to keep stations properly sanitized between sessions. Contender Tattoo Studio also occasionally has booth space available for licensed tattooers or piercers with an established local clientele, reflecting its close ties to the Wichita community it has served for years.
