Chicago Tattoo & Piercing Co. has been a fixture of the city's tattoo scene since 1973, making it the oldest tattoo studio in both Chicago and Illinois. Its roots trace back even further to the mid-1960s, when the shop was originally opened by the late Cliff Raven, a pioneering figure who helped shape a new image for the tattoo industry at a time when it was the only studio of its kind in the city. As the neighborhood evolved, the studio moved in September 2005 to its present location on Belmont Avenue, into a space designed to be state of the art.
Today the studio offers a full range of tattooing and body piercing services, with a resident team of tattoo artists and piercers and a dedicated jewelry selection for piercing clients. Consultations and appointments are available for both tattoo and piercing work, alongside detailed aftercare guidance for each. The shop is open every day from 10AM to 8PM and has maintained a complaint-free membership with the Better Business Bureau, holding an A+ rating for more than 14 years. With decades of continuous operation in Chicago, it carries forward a long-standing tradition in American tattooing.
