Personal Art Inc has served Lake Station, Indiana since 1985, when founder Jeanne Fritch left the studio she had co-founded in 1978 to pursue her own vision of tattooing. Originally established as "Tattoos By Jeanne," the studio was built on the belief that every design should be personal to the person wearing it rather than a pre-drawn "flash" piece. Almost 40 years later, that philosophy still guides the work, blending fine art tattooing with a warm, creative studio culture built around outstanding art, commitment to excellence, and customer care.

The studio operates as a private space, open by advance appointment only, offering custom, personalized tattoo designs alongside permanent cosmetics services such as eyebrows and eyeliner. Clients work directly with the artist to bring their own stories to life on their skin, in a comfortable, professional setting rather than a traditional walk-in tattoo parlor. Beyond tattooing and permanent cosmetics, the studio has trained others through its own apprenticeship program, extending its influence on tattoo culture in Northwest Indiana. The approach remains rooted in one guiding idea: art on a body canvas, created to last forever.
