Explosive Ink Tattoo has served the Salem Lakes, Illinois area since 2007, built on a foundation of quality tattoos and customer satisfaction. The studio is run by a husband-and-wife team: tattoo artist Bret Jensen and office manager Lisa Jensen. Bret brings over two decades of experience to every session, having completed a three-year apprenticeship before honing his craft further at another studio prior to founding this one. He specializes in original custom concepts, flash work, and cover-ups of any size or style, carefully planning content, placement, and sizing to ensure lasting results.

Bret works with Danny Fowler coil and Critical Torque tattoo machines, and uses professionally produced, vegan inks from trusted brands that undergo quality testing. The studio maintains annual certification in OSHA and Bloodborne Pathogens standards, and its tattooist is licensed. It has also held Better Business Bureau accreditation since 2017. Lisa oversees consultations, scheduling, and client communication, drawing on decades of customer service experience to guide clients smoothly through the process. Together, the pair emphasize collaboration with every client, aiming to bring each tattoo project to life with care and professionalism from initial concept through completion.
