La Promesa Tattoo is a tattoo studio located in the northwest Corpus Christi / 5 Points area of Corpus Christi, Texas. The shop was built with a vision to create a beautiful environment for tattooing and the fine arts, continuing a tradition of strong, well-crafted tattoo work. Founder Brian McDermott began his career in January 2000 at Electra Art Tattoo, one of Corpus Christi's oldest and most successful shops, completing a traditional apprenticeship under Bruce Edwards before spending 23 years with the Electra Art / Axis Tattoo family.
The studio's artists bring a range of specialties to the table. Jonathan Gutierrez, trained under Brian in a traditional apprenticeship, focuses on American traditional, vintage flash, and Borneo-inspired tribal work, alongside a variety of other styles. Heidi Cineceros began tattooing in 2009 in Corpus Christi, honing her skills in traditional Americana before developing into a diverse custom artist whose personal style blends realism and new school influences. Her portfolio spans graffiti, fine line, illustrative work, and custom script, and she works comfortably in both color and black and grey. Together, this team offers a wide breadth of custom tattooing expertise.
