Breakwater Tattoo is a private, appointment-only tattoo studio established in 2019 in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach, California. The studio focuses on custom tattoo work uniquely tailored to each client's individual idea and vision, with its artists collectively specializing in illustrative, ornamental, blackwork, Japanese, and American-traditional styles. Clients work directly with their chosen artist for a more personalized and attentive experience throughout the process.
As a small, focused operation, the studio emphasizes direct communication, encouraging clients to reach out to individual artists or the shop via email rather than by phone. Breakwater has been featured in the Long Beach Post and The Tattoo Industry magazine, and was voted one of the Top 5 Tattoo Studios in Long Beach by the Long Beach Post. Prospective clients can browse artist galleries and bios on the studio's site before booking, and all clients must be 18 or older to receive tattoo work there.
