American Electric Tattoo Company is an iconic tattoo shop in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, opened by Craig Jackman in the fall of 1999. The studio has been serving the greater Los Angeles area and tattoo collectors from around the world for over two decades, and walk-in guests are welcome. Owner Craig Jackman has been tattooing for more than 35 years and is well known for his traditional and unique styles, having been featured in multiple magazines and articles as well as appearing on the TV show LA Ink.
The shop's artist team brings decades of combined experience across a range of approaches, from fine line and traditional to illustrative work, with an emphasis on collaboration so every piece speaks to the individual client. Artist Sean Smith draws on 30 years of busy street shop experience, treating every tattoo, no matter how small, with focus and respect. In September 2019, the studio celebrated 20 years in Silverlake by giving back to its community with free flash designs. Open seven days a week, American Electric continues its long-running presence in the neighborhood.
