Society 9 Tattoo and Piercing

Society 9 Tattoo and Piercing has served Bakersfield, California for over 20 years as a multi award-winning tattoo and salon studio. The team includes owner Ryan Smith, who apprenticed under Bakersfield tattoo pioneer Reverend Jimmi and works across black and grey realism, color realism, biomechanical, sacred geometry, and portrait styles, along with Lee Hamilton, whose specialties include calligraphy, black and grey, and color work, and Hunter, who focuses on fine line, black and grey, dotwork, and floral/botanical designs. Ryan and Lee also travel nationally to represent the shop at tattoo conventions and competitions, reflecting the studio's deep roots in the broader tattoo community.

Beyond tattooing, the studio operates as a full-service shop and salon, combining piercing with services such as microblading, permanent lip pigmentation, lip filler, mesotherapy, fibroblasting, eyelash extensions, powder brow, tattoo removal, and tooth gems, making it a one-stop destination for clients seeking both body art and cosmetic treatments. The shop is open seven days a week, giving Bakersfield clients flexible access to its artists and technicians. With a roster of experienced tattooers and licensed specialists working under one roof, the studio emphasizes a wide breadth of services alongside dedicated, custom-designed tattoo work for every client who walks through the door.
