Neptune Tattoo Studio is a minority women-owned, environmentally conscious tattoo shop located in the historic core of downtown Los Angeles. The studio was created with the intention of providing a safe tattoo space for all, built on values of professionalism, compassion, and kindness. Drawing on the Chinese saying that the ocean gains its vastness by opening itself to rivers from all directions, the shop welcomes creatives and aspiring artists who share that same open mindset, fostering a collaborative and inclusive community rather than a closed-off studio culture.
Sustainability is central to how the shop operates: single-use items are chosen to be biodegradable and compostable, breaking down within one to sixty months instead of leaving behind harmful residue. The team recognizes the unique bond and trust between artist and client, viewing each session as more than just creating an art piece—sometimes helping clients process grief, loss, or fear, and other times celebrating growth and achievement. Beyond tattooing, the studio runs an apprentice program and hosts a "Sip and Tatts" group class, extending its welcoming approach to those learning the craft and those experiencing it together.
