Tinta Rebelde Custom Tattoos is a collective art gallery and tattoo studio in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, California, open seven days a week. Established in 1997 by owner Rafael Sanchez, known as Rockabilly Ray, the shop spent a decade in Hollywood before settling into its current DTLA home. It specializes in traditional, vintage-style tattooing, with Ray's own work blending his Mexican heritage, a love of rockabilly music, and influences from LA street life and American Traditional tattooing, alongside custom designs and piercing services.
The studio's artists have built a loyal following across Southern California over more than 25 years, tattooing musicians from bands within the SoCal rockabilly, psychobilly, and punk scenes, as well as appearing in the 2022 Bad Bunny music video "Yonaguni." Alongside Ray, tattooers Tes and Alex bring their own street-influenced and old-school traditional approaches, rounding out a team dedicated to quality custom work. Clients can browse extensive design options or bring their own ideas to life, all within a studio recognized for its deep roots in Los Angeles's art and music culture.
