Broken Art Tattoo has been a cornerstone of Atwater Village's creative scene in Los Angeles since 2005. Founded and owned by internationally renowned tattoo artist Jeremy Swan, the studio is located on Glendale Boulevard near Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Echo Park, and Griffith Park. It's best known worldwide as a cover-up specialist, transforming old, faded, or unwanted tattoos into brand-new artwork, while also offering fully custom designs. Walk-ins are welcome, and clients can also book consultations by phone, text, or email.
The shop's artists work across a range of styles, including fine line tattoos with delicate, precise linework and single-needle micro-detail, black & grey realism with smooth shading and lifelike depth, Japanese tattoos featuring traditional Irezumi motifs and large-scale bodywork, and American Traditional pieces with bold outlines and classic flash. Each artist at the studio brings their own distinct style to the table. Describing itself as combining timeless design, technical expertise, and Los Angeles creativity, the studio is open Monday through Saturday from noon to 8pm and Sunday from noon to 6pm.
