TATTOO ACT

TATTOO ACT operates in the Chuo Ward of Sapporo, Japan, under the work of tattoo artist Horitoshi. The studio specializes in Japanese traditional tattooing, with freehand work offered for those seeking a more direct, unplanned approach to their design. As of April 2025, the palette has been narrowed to black, gray, white, and red only, giving the studio's output a distinct, restrained visual identity. Tribal designs are not accepted, reflecting a clear focus on traditional Japanese style over other genres.

Every session at the studio begins with an in-person consultation, where clients discuss their desired design in detail before any work begins; those without a clear concept can also work with the artist to develop one. The studio operates strictly by appointment, requires valid photo identification, and only accepts clients aged 18 and over, with additional restrictions for students and minors. Aftercare follows a low-maintenance philosophy, using a thin protective film left in place for about a week rather than frequent product application. Sizes range from small, coin-sized pieces up to full A4 and larger works, reflecting a practice built around sustained, detailed sessions.
